Art.12)
All the Library’s movables and real estate will have to be listed in an inventory in conformity with the laws in force. All the Library’s books and documents have to be considered movables. The inventory is represented by the acquisitions chronological book. Books and documents purchased by the Library with Regional, State and Private funding will keep their public aim and will remain part of the Local Administration’s property. For the description, classification, filing, organisation and use of all books and documents, the Library will follow the librarianship laws and standards, in conformity with the national and regional laws in force. The Library will follow the Italian Rules of Cataloguing by Author, it will adopt the Dewey Decimal Classification, it will apply the ISBD rules and will adhere to the ICCU “Subject Catalogue” of Florence. It is possible to change and adjust the above mentioned rules to the local needs, following an agreement with the Book Department of the Region Council
Art.13)
The Social and Cultural Services representative and the Librarian are entrusted with the Library’s books and movables preservation; according to their position, they will be responsible to the Local Administration.
Art.14)
All works, prints and manuscripts which are part of the Library’s property have to be registered in the acquisitions chronological book. The registration number will be displayed on the book and on the topographic catalogue card, if there is one. All the Library’s works, prints and manuscripts will display:
- a stamp with the name of the Library printed on the work title page and on page 21;
- the work registration number printed on its last page. All non-paper property (records, compact discs, audiotapes, videotapes, photos, CD-ROMs, maps) will have to be catalogued likewise.
Art.15)
The Library has a computerized system of catalogues available to the readers. Continuation works, collections and periodicals will be listed in the catalogues provided. Manuscripts, autographs, maps, music, incunabulum and rare books will have different inventories and catalogues, which will be divided into volumes with numbered and stamped pages. The use of acids to scrape or delete information from the inventories is strictly forbidden. Any correction will have to be done in red, so that anything previously written can be read, and with a note stating the reason of the cancellation signed by the Social and Cultural Services representative.
Art.16)
Every book will show the number of its position on the shelves. Books will be rationally placed on open shelves in order to avoid any kind of barrier and facilitate the books consultation, rearrangement and handling
Art.17)
It is possible to listen to audiotapes if wearing headphones. Scholars are allowed to listen collectively if accompanied by their teachers.
